Personal trauma that still lingers. Moments from years ago that sneak back in without warning.
Triggers don't ask permission. Nightmares don't care how strong you are.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

In early 2020 I was in one of the hardest fights of my life. During that time I carried a coin from Jason Redman. It said, “Get off the X.” That coin was always with me. It reminded me to push forward, to not give in — to breathe, even when it hurt.

I carried it everywhere: in meetings, during workouts, through hard conversations, and in silent moments alone in the car. Until one day, on May 19th, I had to take it out of my pocket and hand it to my child. That moment broke me and built me at the same time. I couldn't fix everything for them, but I could remind them to keep going.

What came after wasn't peace. It was a storm. Nightmares. Panic. A mind stuck on repeat. I was going through the motions, but inside I was unraveling. The pain wasn't new — it had just finally surfaced.

THE OCTOPUS

I had someone I talked to on long walks over the years. No advice. No judgment. Just presence. But after May 19th, I needed more. I needed someone who would help hold the line.

Weeks later I saw a sign in a quirky little store: “A true friend sticks like an octopus to your face.” It made me laugh. Then it made me cry. That's what they were.

Over the years I've stood beside veterans and first responders, supported nonprofits like the Woody Williams Foundation, and listened to hundreds of Gold Star families. Every one of them had their own pain, their own battles, their own triggers.

Sometimes we just need something to hold on to. Something small. Something that says: you are not alone.

PURPOSE OF THE COIN

This was never about money. I didn't create the Coin of Resilience to build a business — I created it to help people. Every single dollar from the coin goes directly to nonprofit efforts supporting veterans, first responders, and anyone carrying trauma. It funds the work that lets others tell their stories, share their truth, and find healing in community.

This coin is not about me. It's about you. It's about us. For the ones still fighting. For the ones carrying trauma that can't be seen. For the parents, the veterans, the first responders, the kids — the quiet warriors who show up anyway.

When life hits hard, and the voices in your head tell you to quit, I want you to feel that coin in your hand and remember: don't quit.

The front features the mighty Kraken entwined with the Spartan helmet — a symbol of unbreakable discipline, courage, and the brotherhood that stands shoulder to shoulder in every fight.

Spartans knew their true strength was in each other, facing every battle as one. This side is a reminder that you don't have to face your challenges alone.
